We install Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, and Pioneer most often. Mitsubishi has the best cold-climate performance for sun-belt mountain regions; Daikin has the best warranty terms; LG and Pioneer compete on price.
Inverter compressors mean these systems modulate continuously instead of cycling on/off. That's why mini-splits are 25-40% more efficient than central AC for the same space.
Price expectations
Single-zone 9-12k BTU install runs $2,945 – $4,970. Single-zone 18-24k BTU install runs $3,865 – $6,255. 2-zone multi-split install runs $5,890 – $9,015. 4-zone multi-split install runs $9,385 – $13,615.
