Ductwork Cleaning, Sealing & Repair in San Diego — what's typical here
We don't subcontract San Diego work. Every job is our own crew, our own trucks, our own warranty.
On bigger jobs we'll bring two techs. On simpler ones, just one — fewer hands, faster billing.
The actual work
Most homes have leaky ducts losing 20-30% of conditioned air to attics and crawl spaces. Sealing the duct system is the highest-ROI HVAC improvement most homeowners can make.
We test ducts with a blower door + duct blaster, identify leaks, and seal them with mastic (better than tape long-term) or aeroseal injection.
Full duct replacement is rare — only on systems with collapsed flex-duct, severe pest damage, or major redesign needs. More common: targeted replacement of damaged sections plus sealing of the rest.
Fair pricing for this work
Duct leak test (blower door + duct blaster) runs $280 – $450. Mastic duct sealing (whole house) runs $850 – $1,800. Aeroseal injection runs $1,400 – $2,800. Damaged duct section replacement runs $340 – $1,200. Full duct system redesign + replace runs $3,400 – $9,800.
From the books — a recent San Diego job
A San Diego customer in their 20-year-old home had been chasing upstairs always 6-8° hotter than downstairs for weeks before calling. Crushed flex duct in attic and 30% leakage was the actual cause. We replaced damaged section, sealed remaining ducts, added zone damper, temperature differential dropped to 1-2°; everything stable since. About $820 all in.
